Bill:

I can make a copy of the Chameleon, the disk being Distributed by
DarkStar SYSTEMS (Copyright 1984) and that the CHAMELEON program as being
Copyright 1986 by Ewan Wannop. I had purchased it from Kula Software in
Hawaii back about 1990. It looks that I might have wiped out what was on
the back side that the beginning notes refer to and it looks like the
front system disk was only ~190 of the 280 ProDOS blocks being used.

Looking at the disk now it seems that the back side was simply a DOS 3.3
version of the Instructions that I had translated into ProDOS TexT as
well as an AppleWorks type files that I have included on the front side,
eg. so that the contents of both sides of the disk is now included on the
front, as well as including the TYPE commands (see below). At the end of
the instruction file that was on the back of the disk the following:

The CHAMELEON system disk is copyrighted . All rights are reserved.,
The disk may not be copied in any form, other than fir the production of
a single copy for use as a backup or working copy for the sole use of the
owner of the original disk.

ProDOS (c) Apple 1983

CHAMELEON (c) 1986 Ewen Wannop, 1986

I believe that these are referring to a complete purchased copy of the
program because at the beginning of the disk the following is first
displayed:

I believe that the original catalog of the distributed CHAMELEON disk is
as follows:

/CHAMELEON
* BASIC.SYSTEM    SYS   21   18-JUN-84
* CHAM.SYSTEM    SYS   24   24-MAR-87
* FILER                     SYS   21   18-JUN-84
* LOGO                     BIN    21   23-MAY-86
  MPZ1                      TXT     9    22-APR-87
* PRODOS               SYS   21   06-SEP-86
  STARTUP              BAS     1   22-APR-87
  TMOUSE    	   BIN      3   22-APR-87
  T80COL	   SYS      1  22-APR-87
* INS.DOC                TXT    46   20-SEP-99

I believe that the INStructions.DOC is dated so because it was at that
time when I had copied the instruction file from the backside. At that
time I also added an AppleWorks version of this document as well as the
TYPE command function that adds a command to ProDOS that lets you enter
TYPE XXXX <CR> at the BASIC.SYSTEM's ']' prompt and the file named XXXX
will be typed out onto the screen, best viewed when in the 80 column
screen which can be attain with either the usual PR#3 or using -T80COL
<CR>. The ProDOS file is ProDOS 8, v1.2 06-SEP-86. The instructions
from the back refer to the $25 and about free distribution, etc.

I had transfered a copy of the instructions into an Appleworks file as
well as the TeXT file and included a TYPE command file, one from Nibble
and one from SOFTDISK (?) I believe, that adds the command TYPE to ProDOS
in order to view any file. I was able to fit all of these on 1 disk as I
mentioned above.

I had also bought a CPM / DOS 3.3 hybrid 5.25" disk at that time from the
same source and was going to send you a copy of these 2 disks that I
think you would find very useful since you do have copies of CPM
operating disks.
